An off-duty LAPD officer has died after having been shot in south Los Angeles, a spokeswoman confirmed. 

The officer’s death was confirmed at approximately 11:37 p.m. 

Police said the officer was shot during a robbery at or near 87th and Beach streets in Florence-Firestone.

No other details were immediately available.
