A 20-acre Agoura Hills vineyard estate nestled against the protected parkland of the Santa Monica Mountains is on the market for $5.995 million.

The property boasts a 7,400-square-foot Spanish hacienda-style residence consisting of a main house and a separate guest house, with a combined total of six bedrooms and six bathrooms. A 1-acre vineyard that produced chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon from 1998 to 2018 is primed for replanting with starts from the original vines.

According to marketing materials, the compound backs up to a rock formation resembling an open hand, palm up. It  “adds to the uniqueness of the land,” the owner, Nicholas B. Jackson, said in a statement provided by Compass.

The property once belonged to Patrick J. Frawley, Jr., a Nicaraguan-American businessman who made his millions in leak-proof Paper Mate pens and rust-proof Schick razor blades. Frawley and his wife, Gerardine, sold the property in August 1993 for $1.2 million, and that owner sold it to Jackson.

Records show Jackson bought the compound for $14 million in April 1998 He then collaborated with Robert Daniels, the architectural designer and luxury builder whose work includes six homes used on ABC’s “The Bachelor,” to transform the existing residence into “a one-of-a-kind authentic Spanish Hacienda.”

As Jackson put it, “The compound has it all.”

The main home has a church bell on the roof. A wood-carved entry door opens into the foyer with a high ceiling, a tiled staircase with a wrought-iron railing and an interior balcony.

A fireplace warms the primary suite, which boasts a sitting area and a spa-like bathroom with French doors to a balcony.

Shell-shaped doorway toppers are sculpted in the plaster.

Other highlights include a second-story library, a wet bar, a screening room and an entertainer’s backyard with a lagoon pool and spa, an outdoor kitchen and multiple seating areas surrounded by lush landscaping. There’s a private pond, creeks and a barn as well as space for a future horse facility.
