Over 500 Ice Age fossils were found during the construction of the Purple Line Extension.

The fossils found at three future Metro stations were displayed for the first time at La Brea Tar Pits Museum on Wilshire Boulevard.

Among some of the fossils workers found include ground sloths, bison and mammoths. To the surprise of workers, they even found a complete skull of a juvenile Columbian Mammoth.

Metro’s project will be another alternative for commuters who travel between downtown Los Angeles, the Miracle Mile, Beverly Hills and Westwood.
