Firefighters in the 200 block of Hill Street in downtown Los Angeles are reporting that an explosion occurred and three manhole covers have been displaced with smoke emanating from below.

Currently, there are no indications of power outage in the area and no injuries have been reported.

The Department of Water and Power has been notified, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
