East Los Angeles Sheriff’s were in pursuit of a dark-colored four-door sedan in the San Dimas area on Sunday night after reports came in that the people in the vehicle had possession of an assault rifle.

Newschopper4 was over the chase around 9:45 p.m. as the vehicle traveled eastbound on the 10 Freeway.

The pursuit seemed to have originated in the DTLA and East LA area.

The vehicle reached speeds of up to 120 mph throughout the pursuit.

The short-lived pursuit came to an end when the vehicle crashed into the divider while exiting on Towne Avenue in Pomona due to its high speed and the inability of slowing down in time.

Luckily, there was no other cars involved in the collision.

A female driver then exited the car with her hands up and was taken into custody.

A female and male passenger then exited the vehicle and were also taken into custody.

Authorities then proceeded to check the car, and confirmed that there was in fact an assault rifle in the back seat.
