A natural gas leak led to an explosion in South Los Angeles Sunday morning, and multiple people are being treated for injuries, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

It is believed that the explosion resulted from an underground gas leak. Manhole covers were displaced due to pressure within the sewers, the fire department said.

It is unknown at this time how many people were injured or the severity of their injuries.
