At least 9 people were injured and one teenager declared dead after a multi vehicle crash in Porter Ranch, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

At least three vehicles were reported to have been involved in the collision which included seven adults and three children, with one 17-year-old badly trapped in the wreckage declared dead at the scene, LAFD said.

The crash occurred at around 5:52 p.m. near 11001 N Reseda Blvd., according to LAFD.

“I was just inside, heard the loud bang and I could feel it up in the attic came running outside and there were two cars hit head on each hit passenger side absolutely crushed,” Blake Frady, a witness, said.

Police say the driver of a black Honda CRV with four passengers crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with two other vehicles.

One was a Toyota Venza with an adult and two children aboard, and the other was a Volkswagen Sedan with a 30-year-old woman aboard.

Nine people were transported to regional trauma centers where six are in critical condition and three others in fair condition, LAFD said.

Reseda Boulevard was shut down in both directions between San Fernando Mission Boulevard and Chatsworth Street.

Authorities believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.
