Authorities continued their search Saturday for whoever shot and wounded a man on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Pomona in a car-to-car shooting, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP investigators said the unnamed victim was heading east on the 10 Freeway at 6:45 p.m. when two men inside a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Nissan, fired three shots hitting the man. Two other passengers in his car were not hurt in the gunfire.

The shooters fled the scene heading east on the 10 freeway, the CHP reported. The victim was able to exit the freeway.

Rescuers responded at 7 p.m. Friday to the area of the 10 and Fairplex Drive and found a victim with a gunshot wound in a McDonald’s parking lot, a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch supervisor said.

The man was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital for treatment, but an update on his condition was not available.

Eastbound traffic on the 10 was diverted onto the Orange (57) Freeway and a SigAlert was issued as the shooting was investigated, according to the CHP.

The SigAlert was cancelled and the freeway was cleared at 10:30 p.m. Friday, CHP Officer Tony Polizzi said, adding there was no additional information on the identity of the shooters or a motive for the attack.

Anyone with information on this shooting was asked to call the CHP at 626-338-1164. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
