The Los Angeles Police Department was chasing a vehicle in the Los Angeles area Monday night when they decided to back off of the chase.

It was not immediately clear why police backed off of the chase or whether they knew the identity of the driver.

A silver four-door vehicle was speeding through the streets of Silverlake and Koreatown when police units stopped following.
