
A Hollywood Hills couple came face to face with a pair of thieves Friday night after they returned home from the airport.
The confrontation happened at about 9:30 p.m. when the couple was returning from Los Angeles International Airport, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. According to the couple, the robbers were caught in action and knew where and what to look for.
One of the robbers attempted to use a crowbar as a weapon but ultimately, the thieves decided to flee. A third accomplice was waiting for them outside in a getaway car, LAPD said. The trio was able to take off with jewelry.
At the time of the break-in, the couple’s children and nanny were sleeping inside the home. No injuries were reported.
