46 Fire in Jurupa Valley Grows to 75 Acres, Evacuations Ordered

Mandatory evacuations were issued after another fire in Jurupa Valley sparked Thursday, just after midnight.

Evacuations were issued for:

  • 46th Avenue from Riverview Drive to Calle Hermosa
  • Riverview Drive from 46th Avenue to Rio Road
  • Rio Road from Riverview Drive to Calle Hermosa 
  • and Calle Hermosa from Rio Road to 46th Avenue

An evacuation shelter has been opened at Patriot High School, located at 4355 Camino Real.

One residential structure, one mobile home and two outbuildings were damaged in the fire, according to CAL Fire Riverside.

The now 75-acre fire was called into the CAL Fire and Riverside County Fire Department at 12:30 a.m. after starting on the 5300 block of 46th Avenue, according to Public Information Officer Rob Roseen.  

It was not immediately clear how many homes were threatened.
