Police are investigating after a shooting led to a car smashing into a beauty salon in Lennox on Monday, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The shooting was reported just after 9 p.m. near the intersection of Lennox and Hawthrone Boulevards, the department said. The violence caused the driver of a vehicle to crash into a nearby beauty salon.

One person died at the scene, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said. It’s unclear if that individual was killed the shooting or due to the crash.

A second person survived the incident and was taken to a nearby hospital. The severity of their injuries is unclear.

Authorities did not release the identity of the person who was killed.

The gunman was described as being dressed in white and took off on foot. It’s unclear what led up to the gunfire.
