One person was killed and four others were hurt in a multi-car crash Saturday in the Elysian Valley, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The incident was reported around 12:30 p.m. on the 2400 block of Riverside Drive. There, three vehicles crashed. It’s unclear what caused the crash.

A 30-year-old man died at the scene, LAFD said. His identity has not been released.

Two people, a 69-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman, were critically hurt and hospitalized. Two others involved in the crash, a 34-year-old man and a 35-year-old man, were assessed at the scene for minor injuries. They declined to be taken to a hospital.

Details on what led up to the incident remain under investigation.
